In May 2026, ten students from the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire du Québec will fly to Costa Rica. This one-week trip will allow participants to discover the biodiversity and agricultural practices of this leading Central American country in terms of sustainable agroecological methods and agriculture adapted to climate change.
They will visit the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE), a regional research and university-level training center focused on agriculture, management, conservation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. The group will also have the opportunity to explore various farms and industries in the agricultural and food-processing sectors.
Visits to different organizations, research centers, cooperatives, a nature preservation center, and a national park will complete the trip. This diversity of experiences will allow students to explore new approaches to Producing Differently.
