On specialized early childhood education websites, there is increasing discussion about open-ended and versatile materials. These rich, infinitely adaptable resources can take many forms. To be considered open-ended and versatile, materials must be transportable, transformable, and combinable, with no specific function or representation. They can be used in any situation, in all play areas, both indoors and outdoors!

The CPE au Petit Nuage will launch a pilot project at the start of the school year to introduce the philosophy of open-ended materials to a specific group of children. Following this project, the goal is to extend the presence of such materials across all groups.

To successfully implement this initiative, the CPE must invest in renewing part of its educational materials. This is where your support becomes invaluable. Throughout the year, we will occasionally call on parents to rummage through their cupboards for old keys, pieces of lace, or various fabrics. However, we will also need funds to help us purchase essential materials such as wooden blocks, trays, adapted tables, and more.
